The legal uses for Cocaine are as a local anesthetic, often used for eye, nose and throat surgery. Its name comes from the Coca plant from which it is derived. It is a highly addictive substance and can be used in a variety of ways, including smoking, snorting , injecting and sniffing. When a person becomes dependent on the drug it is nearly impossible for them to stop on their own. Withdrawal usually involves depression, cravings and side effects such as exhaustion, cramps, etc. Other side effects from use are respiratory problems from smoking and nasal problems from snorting.
