Our population is comprised of men who have been abusing or addicted to alcohol, methamphetamine, heroin, prescribed pain medication, marijuana and combinations of the substances listed. We hope to soon start a smoking cessation group for those who wish to quit smoking.
Alcohol Addiction - Alcoholism
The use of alcohol is on the rise. Considered by many to be ok because it is legal and not seen by many as a drug as well as seeing parents drinking has given many the attitude that it is not as dangerous as the other illegal drugs but is seen as a beverage.

The legal uses for Cocaine are as a local anesthetic, often used for eye, nose and throat surgery. It’s name comes from the Coca plant from which it is derived. It is a highly addictive substance and can be used in a variety of ways, including smoking, snorting , injecting and sniffing.

A central nervous system depressant, derived from Morphine, Heroin is a completely illegal drug with no legal use by the medical profession. This therefore places the user into the position of being a criminal simply be using the drug.

Methamphetamine
A stimulant, legally used for treatment of ADHD and Narcolepsy under the name of Desoxyn. It creates a feeling of euphoria, causing the eyes to dilate. The user may become very talkative and restless, often tinkering with objects for hours on end.

Prescription Drugs
Drugs such as pain killers, mood elevators, diet pills, etc. Often times the person who is addicted started on them as medication for chronic pain. They may continue to obtain the drugs through their doctor or others, many on-line, or through illegal means.
